Designing the visual identity for the ASSIST research and development project meant giving tangible graphic form to the idea of the intelligent, sustainable business. The core aim of the innovation — a prototype automated sampler for predictive maintenance through the analysis of lubricating oils — is carried entirely by the design of the mark.
The creative focus
The work concentrated on the first letter, the initial A, turned into an iconic monogram that fuses industrial fluidity with robotic precision. The structure of the A was re-engineered to echo the mechanical arms and the kinematics of the sampler itself, folding the mechanical and software design phases into one continuous, dynamic graphic sign. The diagonal that crosses and completes the letter evokes the sampling needle, or an element of technological input, moving with a precision that recalls the reliability and repeatability of the laboratory tests the instrument performs.
For the palette we chose an institutional, technological blue: a choice that communicates stability and engineering compliance.
